Strong current-state and initial-state opacity of discrete-event systems

چکیده

Opacity, as an important property in information-flow security, characterizes the ability of a system to keep some secret information from intruder. In discrete-event systems, based on standard setting which intruder has complete knowledge system’s structure, versions current-state opacity and initial-state cannot perfectly characterize higher-level privacy requirements. To overcome such limitation, this paper we propose two stronger called strong for partially-observed nondeterministic finite-state automata. Strong (resp., initial-state) describes that each run ending starting) at state, there exists non-secret whose observation is same previous run. Then structure using novel concurrent-composition technique verify opacity, time complexity O((|Σ||X|2+|Σo||X∖XS|2(1+|Σuo|))2|X∖XS|), where |X| |Σ|, |Σo|, |Σuo|, |X∖XS|) number states events, observable unobservable states) automaton. Finally, proposed also used check infinite-step lower than one literature.

Verification of initial-state opacity in security applications of discrete event systems

In this paper, we formulate and analyze methodologies for verifying the notion of initialstate opacity in discrete event systems that are modeled as non-deterministic finite automata with partial observation on their transitions. A system is initial-state opaque if the membership of its true initial state to a set of secret states remains opaque (i.e., uncertain) to an intruder who observes sys...

State estimation and detectability of probabilistic discrete event systems

A probabilistic discrete event system (PDES) is a nondeterministic discrete event system where the probabilities of nondeterministic transitions are specified. State estimation problems of PDES are more difficult than those of non-probabilistic discrete event systems. In our previous papers, we investigated state estimation problems for non-probabilistic discrete event systems. We defined four ...

Decentralized prognosis of fuzzy discrete-event systems

This paper gives a decentralized approach to the problem of failure prognosis in the framework of fuzzy discrete event systems (FDES). A notion of co-predictability is formalized for decentralized prognosis of FDESs, where several local agents with fuzzy observability rather than crisp observability are used in the prognosis task. An FDES is said to be co-predictable if each faulty event can be...

Opacity of discrete event systems and its applications

In this paper, we investigate opacity of discrete event systems. We define two types of opacities: strong opacity and weak opacity. Given a general observation mapping, a language is strongly opaque if all strings in the language are confused with some strings in another language and it is weakly opaque if some strings in the language are confused with some strings in another language. We show ...

Overview of discrete event systems opacity: Models, validation, and quantification

Over the last decade, opacity of discrete event systems (DES) has become a very fertile field of research. Driven bysafety and privacy concerns in network communications and online services, much theoretical work has been conductedin order to design opaque systems. A system is opaque if an external observer in unable to infer a ”secret” about thesystem behavior. This paper aims to r...
